For best results, Art Gallery Fabrics recommends using a thicker needle, ideally a 100/16 or 110/18 jeans needle, to help prevent breakage, especially when sewing through multiple layers. Finish raw edges with a serger to reduce fraying or use a zigzag stitch if you don't have a serger. Use a 28wt thread for stronger, more polished seams and increase your stitch length compared to quilting cotton, which helps the fabric feed smoothly and creates a cleaner-looking stitch.
