Frequently asked questions

Have questions? We’re hereto help

What is the difference between a duvet cover and a bed sheet?

A duvet cover is placed over your duvet and is buttoned or zipped closed to protect it, while sheets are placed over your mattress. We offer a wide selection of sheets, including fitted, flat, valance, and platform valance.

How often should you change your bed sheets?

It is recommended that your sheets and pillowcases be changed once a week, with duvet covers once every two weeks at most.

When can a duvet be used, year-round or during winter only?

We provide a selection of duvets with different togs to suit the seasons. The higher the tog, the warmer the duvet. 7.5 tog would be for the summer months, 10.5 is a standard all-year-round duvet, while 13.5 gives that extra thickness for colder months.

How to put on a duvet cover?

Follow our easy step-by-step guide and never have trouble changing your duvet covers again!

What are all the things to consider when buying bedding?

Our bedding range provides a variety of materials, styles, patterns, and sizes. Please use our Buying Guide to help you choose your perfect bed linen.

What are the advantages of duvet covers?

Duvet covers not only keep your duvet clean but also allow you to add decoration and style to your bedroom. They provide extra comfort and help with insulation to keep you warm.

What do you need for a bed set?

At Home Store + More, we offer everything you need to complete a full bed set; this includes duvet covers, pillowcases, bedspreads, sheets, cushions, and pillowshams.

Can I wash my feather duvet in the washing machine?

Usually, yes, you can, but always read the instructions on the label. Before washing, double-check for worn stitching and minor rips, and repair to avoid losing any down stuffing or feathers. Use a delicate setting on your machine and mild/non-bio detergent.

Frequently asked questions

Have questions? We’re here to help

What are your candles made of?

Our scented candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided cotton wicks, and scented oils. Just wax, wick, and scent with no other additives or dyes.

How long do your candles last?

As long as you keep the wick trimmed and only burn them for 4-5 hours at a time, our 6.75oz Classic Candles last approximately 40-45 hours, and our 14.5oz 3-Wick Candles last approximately 55-60 hours.  Our scented Reed Diffusers last approximately 4 months with average airflow.

How quickly will my order ship?

We make every effort to ship your orders as quickly as possible. Most orders placed before 12pm CT Monday-Friday will go out same day. Orders placed after 12pm or on weekends will go out the next business day.

Currently, all orders (excluding special or bulk orders) are shipped from san Diego via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. You will receive a tracking number for your order when it is fulfilled.

By default, our packages do not require a signature. If you would like your order to require a signature for delivery, please include your request in the “notes” section of the checkout page.

Where do you get your ingredients?

We source all of our ingredients from companies here in the US.

What makes an all-natural soy wax candle different?

While paraffin wax is refined from crude oil, soy wax is made from soybeans- a completely renewable resource grown here in the US. Compared to paraffin, soy wax burns cleaner with no petrol-carbon soot. Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin, so soy wax candles also last longer.

Where are you candles made?

Our scented candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided cotton wicks, and scented oils. Just wax, wick, and scent with no other additives or dyes.

Why should I trim the wick and only burn your candles for 4-5 hours at a time?

These are common instructions and good practices for any candle and are meant to prolong a candle’s burn time. A longer wick creates a larger flame, a larger flame melts the wax faster, and the wax melts faster than the wick burns away. So the longer your candle burns, the larger the flame gets, causing your candle to melt faster and faster. Keeping the wick trimmed and burning 4-5 hours at a time slows everything down so you get a longer burn time.

Additionally, burning your candle for 4-5 hours at a time ensures that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container. The melted wax (not the flame) is what gives off your candle’s scent, so this will maximize your candle’s scent when lit. It will also prevent your candle from “tunneling”, or burning a hole down the center of the candle while leaving a ring of un-melted wax along the inside of the container.
