Ruffler #86 makes creating ruffles and perfectly even pleats quick and easy. With adjustable settings right on the attachment, you can control both pleat depth and pleat frequency—choose to form a pleat with every stitch, every 6th stitch, or every 12th stitch. Prefer to stitch without pleating? Simply set the ruffler to 0 and sew normally without changing the foot.
Gathering and pleating happen as the special gathering blade works with the needle’s up-and-down motion, catching small amounts of fabric and feeding them under the needle in a steady rhythm. An adjusting screw lets you fine-tune the pleat depth continuously, giving you neat, uniform results on garments and home décor projects alike.
