Pellon 931TD Fusible Midweight: Giving Fabric Extra Shape & Stiffness.
Pellon 931TD Fusible Midweight Interfacing is a non-woven polyester interfacing designed for medium to heavy-weight fabrics. It’s perfect for active sportswear, dress and shirt yokes, and linings where snaps and buttons are used. The interfacing features a lengthwise grain that provides stability and support, while a crosswise stretch allows for flexible shaping.
In addition to garments, Pellon 931TD works well for lightweight linings in pillows, curtains, and bags. It adheres and supports fabrics like corduroy, chino, and poplin exceptionally well, and it’s also suitable for use with terrycloth, velour, chenille, velveteen, denim, duck, and linen.
Made of 100% polyester. Non-woven. Single-sided fusible adhesive. Available in white only. Sewing machine safe. Note: Always pre-wash and pretest fabrics to make sure it is compatible with the fusible. Do not use fabric softener. No pre-shrinking required. Machine wash warm water on gentle cycle. Tumble dry low.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Pin pattern piece to Fusible Midweight following grain line arrows and cut. Trim seam allowances of 1/8". Place fusible (rough or shiny) side of Fusible Midweight against wrong side of fabric. Pin, then steam-baste along edges with tip of iron. Remove pins.
2. Cover with thick, damp press cloth. With iron at wool/steam setting, press firmly for 10-15 seconds. Repeat, lifting and slightly overlapping iron until all interfacing is fused. Steam press on right side. Let fabric cool, then check bond.
TIPS: Use a damp press cloth as a temperature and timing guide. After 10-15 seconds, press cloth should be almost dry. If not, raise iron temperature or hold iron in place a few seconds longer. Use steam iron with metal sole plate. Hand-held steamers will not permanently bond interfacing to fabric.
