A garment sewing & bag making staple–Pellon SF101.
Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex Fusible Woven Cotton Interfacing provides crisp support for collars, cuffs, yokes, pockets, facings and other detail areas of a garment. It adds body and permanent stability when used as a backing for needlework and punch embroidery. It is also perfect for use in handbags, pouches and other accessories. Available in a variety of sizes and colors.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Find the correct side of the interfacing.
The interfacing has one smooth side and one slightly bumpy, grainy side which is the adhesive side.
2. Layer your fabric & interfacing.
Place your fabric on your ironing board, wrong side facing up. Lay the SF101 on top of it with the adhesive (bumpy) side facing down against the fabric.
3. Press the fabric & interfacing.
Cover the interfacing with a damp pressing cloth. Set your iron to the wool/steam setting. Press firmly for about 10 seconds per section with a lifting and overlapping motion rather than sliding the iron across the fabric.
Note: Pre-wash and pretest fabrics to make sure it is compatible. Do not use fabric softener. Pre-shrinking is recommended to prevent fabric puckering, bubbling, or distorting the first time they are washed or pressed.
4. Let the fabric cool.
Allow the fused fabric to cool completely. This step is crucial to ensure that the adhesive sets securely.
