Tips for Sewing Heavy Knits, Leather, and Specialty Fabrics with the Roller Foot

• Heavy Knits: For best results, use a narrow zigzag stitch or a straight stitch set to an average length when working with thick knit fabrics.
• Leather: Select a straight stitch and adjust to a medium or medium-long length. Avoid short stitches, as they can perforate the leather and cause it to tear along the seam.
• Clips Instead of Pins: When sewing leather, oilcloth, laminated fabrics, or other specialty materials, use paper clips or fabric clips to hold layers together. Pins will leave permanent holes in these fabrics.
