The Sew Magnetic Cutting System is unlike any other cutting system out there. It'll help you cut more quickly, accurately, and efficiently than ever before–freeing up more time for the fun part, sewing it all together! This kit includes a 20" x 24 cutting mat, a 6.5" x 24" ruler, and 12 SewTite Booster Magnets. SewTite has thought of everything; they've even designed a cutting system specifically for left-handed people, too! Please note the rotary cutter is not included.
20" x 24" Magnetic Cutting Mat
SewTites large cutting mat is a double-sided, 7-layer, self-healing magnetic cutting mat that's unlike any other on the market. It has a dark grey side with white lines, while the other is light grey with black lines. Choose your color based on what will be easiest to see or the most aesthetically pleasing. Both sides have 1/2" numbers and lines for those quilters who cut most of their pieces on the 1/2", and of course, there are standard whole 1" numbers. Inside each grid box, there are also 1/8" and 1/4" markings. The 20" x 24 cutting mat is the ideal size for fat quarters!
6.5" x 24 Magnetic Acrylic Ruler
The 6.5" x 24" magnetic ruler is made of transparent acrylic with turquoise and black numbers for easy visibility. All turquoise numbers are in 1/2" increments, with the black numbers in 1" increments. Additionally, there are 1/8" and 1/4" markings, as well as 30 °, 45 °, and 60 ° guides on it. You can use the ruler right-side-up for whole-inch cuts or flip it around for half-inch ones. The built-in magnets prevent your project from slipping while still being light enough to shift as needed. The shorter ends of the ruler have beveled edges for easy gripping and shifting. With its revolutionary magnetic design, you don't have to push down very hard on the mat or ruler, making it a more ergonomic way to cut!
12 SewTite Booster Magnets
When cutting thicker materials like pre-quilted pieces, foams, minky, leather, cork, or other materials where the magnetic ruler isn't quite strong enough to hold, that's where 12 SewTite Booster Magnets come into play. They're designed to snap onto the magnets in the ruler to strengthen its hold. Use the magnets on thick or thin materials, including stretchy fabrics, to prevent them from shifting or distorting. They also work great on paper garment patterns, acrylic templates, and anything else you can think of where you can substitute pins.
